Need a ride to vote? This group can help

Voting clinic runs until 7 p.m.

If you need help getting out to a polling station today, you're in luck.

Ride to Vote is offering people a ride to the polls, as well as childcare at the Schumacher Lions Den in the McIntyre Community Centre.

“Basically we just want to facilitate anybody who needs a ride to vote, anybody who needs childcare so they can get out and vote, and just make sure everyone can exercise their right,” said organizer Leena MacDonald.

Volunteers will pick you up at home, take you to the polling station and help make sure you have the proper identification to vote.

Because it's a PD day, parents can also bring their children to the Lions Den while they vote.

“We have a whole bunch of activities and crafts set up. There’s free refreshments, we’ve got a bunch of high school volunteers who are running events for the kids,” said MacDonald.

The polls for the municipal election are open until 8 p.m., and the voting clinic runs until 7 p.m.

To register for a ride, call 705-365-0927 or email [email protected]. You can also message the event on Facebook
