Woman steals items, flees on foot: police

The 34-year-old is facing multiple charges

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with theft-related offences stemming from an incident that occurred yesterday (Aug. 2) at an Algonquin Boulevard strip mall store in Timmins.

A Timmins Police Service officer responded to the call for service regarding a person who had attended at the store and proceeded to steal a number of items, and fled on foot.

Based on the investigation, the responding Timmins Police officer was able to identify, locate, and arrest the female suspect in the store parking lot and recover some of the stolen merchandise.

As a result of the incident, Brenda Shisheesh, 34, of Timmins, has been charged with: 

  • Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Shisheesh remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
