Woman caught rummaging through parked vehicle

Police say the vehicle sustained minor damage, 20-year-old facing a number of charges

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Aug. 14 at a Maple South residence in Timmins.

A Timmins Police Service officer responded to the call for service regarding a person who had been located rummaging through a parked vehicle by the property owners.

Based on the investigation, the responding Timmins Police officer was identified and arrested the female suspect at the scene.

The vehicle sustained minor damage during the altercation.

As a result of the incident, McKenna Nakogee, 20, of Timmins, has been charged with: 

  • Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Trespass by Night contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Mischief to Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Nakogee remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
