Wanted person arrested on warrant: Police

Police say they recognized the 32-year-old while at a disturbance call

The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident on the strength of an arrest warrant that was executed during the late evening hours of Wednesday, Sept. 15 in Timmins.

While attending to a disturbance in progress at a Pine Street North residence, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a male subject as being a “wanted person” named in a current Arrest Warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the disturbance was quelled by police on scene, the validity of the warrant was confirmed and the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Brandon Sutherland, 32, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges that resulted in the Arrest Warrant being issued.
