Two arrested on outstanding warrants

Both remain in police custody awaiting bail hearings

The Timmins Police Service arrested two local residents on the strength of respective arrest warrants which were executed stemming from separate incidents that over the past weekend.

While completing patrols of the downtown core area during the morning hours of July 24, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a pedestrian as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Ted Nakogee, 28, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at provincial court in Timmins to answer to charges resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.

In a separate incident in regards to a “suspicious person” call for service during the noon hour of July 25 in the Ross Avenue area, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized the subject of the complaint as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service. As a result, Bernard Wesley, 41, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at provincial court in Timmins to answer to charges resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.
