Traffic stop in South Porcupine leads to charges for suspended driver: OPP

SOUTH PORCUPINE - On April 3, 2020, at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the South Porcupine Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 101 in South Porcupine.

As a result of the investigation, Jennifer Larocque, age 36, of Matheson, Ontario has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) - two counts,
  • Driving while under suspension contrary to section 53 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) - two counts and,
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit contrary to section 7(1)(a) of the HTA.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 16, 2020. The vehicle has also been impounded for 45 days.
