Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charge

A 37-year-old resident of Armstrong Township faces charges of driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol

ARMSTRONG TWSP – On Aug. 3, 2020, shortly before 7 p.m., members from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a traffic complaint on 10th Avenue South in the Township of Armstrong.  

Officers located and stopped the vehicle on 10th Avenue. Further investigation revealed that the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages. 

As a result, Daniel Labreche, a 37-year-old resident of Armstrong Township, has been arrested and charged with:   

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC), and 
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the CC.   

The accused was released by way of an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 6, 2020, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
