TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE

Staff Sergeant Guy Bouffard has reached a professional milestone in terms of years of exemplary service recently.

He began his career with the Timmins Police Service on April 2, 2001. He completed a number of years on platoon as a patrol officer until 2008. Based on his avid interest in the forensic aspects of criminal investigations, Guy Bouffard, who had been a SOCO officer since 2006, was the successful applicant chosen to be part of the TPS Forensic Unit in 2008. He worked in that capacity with distinction until 2016 when he opted to return to the road.

He displayed the necessary aptitude for a leadership role and was promoted to Sergeant on Jan. 2, 2017. He was promoted shortly afterward to the rank of Staff Sergeant on Jan. 17, 2019. In the course of his 20 years with the Timmins Police, Guy has served as a SOCO officer, coach officer, breathalyzer technician, and most notably as a Forensic Identification officer.
