Timmins man charged for committing indecent act in public

Police say the accused approached two females in the Lonergan area 'while engaged in the commission of an indecent act'

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a Criminal Code offence stemming from an incident that occurred in the area of Lonergan Boulevard during the evening hours of Tuesday, Aug. 9.

An incident where a male party approached two female pedestrians while engaged in the commission of an indecent act was reported to the Timmins Police Service.

An investigation was completed by responding Timmins Police Service officers resulting in the suspect being positively identified, located, and arrested a short distance from the original scene.

As a result of the incident, Mark Cyr, 38, of Timmins, has been charged with: 

  • Commit Indecent Act – Public Place contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused has been released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking compelling his appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on Sept. 27 to answer to the charges laid against him.
