Timmins man accused of damaging electric panel at Cedar St. North building

Police say the accused also damaged a staff member's phone

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident which occurred on Cedar Street North during the evening hours of Tuesday, July 27.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a disturbance in progress involving a person at a building who had become upset with a facility staff member. The subject began yelling and proceeded to cause damage to an electrical panel and a staff member’s phone.

Responding Timmins Police officers located the aggravated subject, completed an arrest, and took the subject into police custody.

As a result of the incident, Brandon Sutherland, 31, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Cause disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Mischief – damage property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at provincial court in Timmins to address the charges laid against him.
