Three charged after suspected opioids seized

On Oct. 13, 2021, The OPP North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), executed a search warrant at a residence on Taylor Avenue in the town of Kirkland Lake.

Police seized drugs suspected to be opioids (fentanyl) with a total street value of approximately $1,200.

As a result three people have been arrested and charged.

Mark Anderson, 56 years-of-age, of Kirkland Lake, Chantal Aube, 42 years-of-age, of Kirkland Lake and Randy-Lynn Kinch, 35 years-of-age, of Wahgoshig First Nation were charged with possession of a schedule I substance - opioid, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The three accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Nov. 25, 2021.
