A local man is facing charges after allegedly stealing over $200 in items from a store and fleeing on a bicycle.
Timmins Police say the theft happened the evening of Saturday, March 25 at a big box retail store on Riverside Drive.
Police say a loss prevention staffer saw the accused shoplifting.
"The suspect fled the area on a bicycle with approximately $230 worth of stolen merchandise," said police in a news release.
The suspect was arrested near the original scene and the stolen items were recovered.
A 36-year-old man from Timmins is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused is in police custody waiting for his next court date on April 6.
