CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES – Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been responding to complaints of motorists speeding in the Temiskaming area, specifically on Lakeshore Road between New Liskeard and Haileybury.

In the upcoming weeks, the OPP will be setting up at various locations within city limits utilizing a speed measuring sign.

Thus far in 2020, the members of the Temiskaming, Englehart and Temagami OPP have investigated approximately 169 collisions involving motor vehicles, off road vehicles and motorized snow vehicles of which 28 collisions were speed related and could have been prevented.

There will be zero tolerance enforcement of, but not limited to: speeding, stunting and drivers who fail to obey the traffic laws.

The OPP reminds motorists to slow down and do their part so that everyone can make it to their destination safely.
