South Porcupine man arrested after allegedly breaching prohibition order

A public complaint over the weekend placed the man with people he is strictly prohibited from being with

The Timmins Police Service arrested a South Porcupine resident stemming from an incident where the suspect was found to be in repetitive breach of a set of strict conditions imposed upon him in keeping with his prohibition order.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a public complaint regarding a man who had, on Friday, Oct. 15 and the following Saturday, been in the immediate company of persons he is strictly prohibited from being with as listed in his probation order.

The responding Timmins Police officers completed an investigation into the matter and determined that such activity was in violation of strict conditions imposed upon him by the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins.

As a result, Tyson Spiers, 39, of South Porcupine was taken into police custody and is charged with:

  • 4 counts of Fail to Comply with Prohibition contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the criminal charges laid against him.
