Search for missing woman continues, people asked to check properties

The search for a woman missing since early September is continuing in Kirkland Lake.

For the second consecutive day, OPP is letting people know that there is an increased police presence in the Kirkland Lake area for the search. 

Residents are also being urged to check their properties and outbuildings as a part of the effort to locate the 29-year-old. 

Lafrance was last seen on Station Road in Kirkland Lake on Sept. 7, 2022. 

She is described as: 

  • 5'3" tall 
  • Thin build and about 110 pounds 
  • Brown hair 
  • Brown eyes

She was last seen wearing black leggings, T-shirt and hat. The specific details on the items are not available. 

The investigation is being led by the Kirkland Lake OPP crime unit under the direction of the OPP's Criminal Investigation Branch, with the help of the OPP Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit.
