Police seized over $3,600 worth of crystal meth in Kirkland Lake

A 42-year-old was arrested and faces a trafficking charge

On July 27, 2022, The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from frontline members of the Kirkland Lake OPP detachment and the OPP North East Region Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Tower Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

Police seized drugs suspected to be Crystal Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over $3,600.

As a result, David Batisse, 42 years-of-age, of Kirkland Lake, has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court by video on July 28, 2022.
