Police seize over $1900 of suspected cocaine in Kapuskasing bust

KAPUSKASING – On May 6, 2021 at approximately 9:18 a.m. members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the Community Street Crime Unit along with members of James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence in the Town of Kapuskasing.   

A search of the residence led to the seizure of what is suspected to be cocaine with a street value of $1920 and $3650 in Canadian currency.  

As a result of the investigation two people have been arrested and charged:   

Sandra Arsenault, 61 years of age from Kapuskasing is facing charges of: 

  • Adult possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA 
  • Adult possession property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code    

The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 7, 2021 in Kapuskasing.  

Ashley Boudreau, 27 years of age from Kapuskasing is facing charges of: 

  • Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA 
  • Adult possession property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC   

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 7, 2021 in Hearst.
