Police seize over $2K worth of suspected cocaine, arrest Timmins man

The culmination of an drug related investigation by the Timmins Police Service – Drug Enforcement Section (DES) resulted in the execution of a search warrant at an Algonquin Blvd bar on Thursday, May 21 in Timmins.

Upon executing the warrant, a lone male person found within the shuttered licensed premises was arrested.

The search of the establishment resulted in a quantity of cocaine with a street value of $2435 being located and seized as evidence.

Additionally, $1555 in Canadian currency was also seized as evidence.

As a result of the incident, Jason Brown, 39, of Timmins has been charged with:  

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act 
  • Possession of a property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused person has been released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking requiring that he attend at provincial court in Timmins on August 4 to answer to the charges laid against him.
