Police seize over $15K in suspected cocaine, fentanyl in Kirkland Lake

On Jan. 28, 2021, The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), completed a drug trafficking investigation.

The OPP arrested the accused on Kirkpatrick Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake and seized Canadian Currency, drugs suspected to be cocaine and opioids (fentanyl). Total street value of the seizure is estimated to be over $15,000.

As a result, Samuel Zinman, 18 years-of-age, from Thornhill, Ontario, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice by video on Jan. 31, 2022.
