KAPUSKASING — On June 21, 2022, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Cain Avenue, in the Town of Kapuskasing.
A search of the residence led to the seizure of suspected fentanyl, suspected hydromorphone, suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected heroin, suspected psilocybin, suspected methamphetamine and Canadian currency over $5,000. The approximate street value of the drugs seized is believed to be over $15,000.
As a result of the investigation, Eric Rouleau, 34 years old from Kapuskasing, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled and Drugs Substances Act (CDSA)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (Other than Heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
Stetson Tremblay, 33 years old from Kapuskasing, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (Other than Heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Aug. 8, 2022, in Kapuskasing.
