Police name four charged in Ramore drug bust

MATHESON - On Dec. 14, 2021 at approximately 8:40 a.m., members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the OPP Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and the Iroquois Falls OPP executed a general warrant at two residences in Ramore.

As a result of the investigation, the OPP seized an amount of suspected cocaine and fentanyl with an estimated street value of $35,000. Also seized was two non-restricted firearms and over $2,000 in Canadian currency.

David Daigle, 38 years of age of Timmins, was arrested and charged with the following:
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
    •    possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
    •    unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the CC
    •    careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition contrary to section 8(1) of the CC

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 3, 2022 in Timmins.

Tyler Guindon, 33 years of age of Ramore, was arrested and charged with the following:
    •    careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition contrary to section 86(1) of the CC
    •    unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the CC

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 3, 2022 in Timmins.

Sharlyne Sukhraj, 40 years of age of Scarborough was arrested and charged with the following:
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
    •    possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 3, 2022 in Timmins.

Lennox Young, 47 years of age of Scarborough, was arrested and charged with the following:
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
    •    possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing on Dec. 22, 2021 in Timmins.
