Pedestrian facing 'major injuries' in Hearst crash

On Aug. 11, 2022, at approximately 4:46 p.m. members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a passenger motor vehicle and a pedestrian on Front Street, in the Town of Hearst, which resulted in Front Street being closed for a few hours. 

Members of the Hearst OPP, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), attended the scene. The pedestrian was transported to hospital by EMS, with major injuries. The driver of the passenger motor vehicle was uninjured.

The North East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team, and the OPP Technical Collision Investigators are investigating this incident.

The investigation is on-going. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
