LAKE TEMAGAMI – On July 14, 2021, shortly after 2:30 p.m. members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Temiskaming OPP Marine Unit, the Temiskaming OPP Crime Unit, the OPP Aviation Services-Helicopter Section, the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team, the First Nation Bear Island Police, and the Nipissing Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a missing person on Lake Temagami.
Investigation revealed that boating activities were underway when a water tube flipped.
The individual on the tube was ejected into the water and could not be located.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) will continue the search today.
