OPP investigating death of 8-year-old near Earlton

Temiskaming OPP are investigating the death of an eight-year-old child near Earlton.

Emergency services were called to a residence on Gauthier Road in the Township of Armstrong on April 27 around 5:30 p.m. 

The child had fallen into a farm wagon and was brought to hospital where they were pronounced dead, according to OPP.

The Temiskaming Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with the help of the Office of the Chief Coroner - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. 

A post-mortem is scheduled for a later date.
