On June 9, 2022, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault with a weapon incident that occurred on Ash Street, in the Town of Kapuskasing.
One person assaulted another person with an edged weapon, no one was injured in this incident.
As a result of the investigation, Lionel Lalonde, 41-years-old person, from Kapuskasing, was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 4, 2022, in Kapuskasing.
