MOOSONEE - On Feb. 1, 2022, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault that occurred on Niska Road in the Town of Moosonee.
One person assaulted another person which resulted in minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old person from Moosonee was arrested and charged with:
- Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Assault peace officer, contrary to section 270(1)(a) of the CC
The accused was held for a Bail Hearing, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
