KAPUSKASING - On March 20, 2020, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a sexual assault in the Town of Moonbeam. The OPP James Bay Detachments' crime unit assisted in this investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Ghislain Plourdei, age 73, of Moonbeam has been charged with the following:
- Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC) and,
- Sexual interference contrary to section 151 of the CC.
The accused is being held for a bail hearing.
