Man wanted on warrant arrested for break and enter

The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident on the strength of an arrest warrant which was executed in the downtown core during the early evening hours of Tuesday, Aug. 4 by the Timmins Police Service.

While on patrol of his assigned patrol zone, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a male subject as being a wanted person pursuant to an arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police. Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Vincent Belair, 33, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

Belair remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges of

  • Break and enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The Timmins Police are still seeking the whereabouts of Amanda Sutherland, 36, of Timmins, as they currently hold an arrest warrant for her in regards to these matters.
