Man charged after visiting tavern he was banned from

Police say the Dec. 3 incident was in breach of court-imposed release conditions

The Timmins Police Service arrested a Timmins resident stemming from an incident where the suspect was found to be in breach of court-imposed release conditions. 

The Timmins Police Service responded to a public complaint regarding a man who, during the early morning hours of Dec. 3, had attended at a tavern in Timmins while he was prohibited from attending that specific location as set out in his release order issued by the  Ontario Court of Justice. 

The responding Timmins Police officers completed an investigation into the matter and determined that such activity was in direct violation of specific conditions imposed upon him. 

As a result, Danny Kennedy, 41, of Timmins was taken into police custody later in the day on  Dec. 3 and is now charged with: 

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario  Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the criminal charge laid against him.
