Man accused of driving while prohibited in Earlton area: OPP

On Nov. 19, 2020 shortly after 10:30 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 11 in the Township of Armstrong.

Further investigation revealed that the driver was prohibited from driving and was placed under arrest.

Alan Forbes-Lalonde, a 45-year-old resident of McGarry Township, has been charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) (two counts),
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (CC), contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) (three counts),
  • Speeding 1 - 49 kilometres per hour (Km/h) over the posted limit, contrary to section 128 of the HTA, and
  • Fail to use lower beam - oncoming, contrary to section 168(a) of the HTA.

The driver was released by way of an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at court on Dec. 22, 2020, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.
