The Timmins Police Service has laid additional break-in related charges against a local man stemming from the conclusion of their investigation into an incident where a Third Avenue restaurant was victimized.
The break-in occurred during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 7 at a Third Avenue restaurant in Timmins where the suspect had forcibly gained entry into the business
The Timmins Police Service responded to the original call for service where the business owner had discovered that the break-in had occurred.
Investigative resources in terms of the deployment of Timmins Police - Forensic Identification Unit officers and Criminal Investigations Division officers were applied to resolve the matter.
Based on the outcome of their collective investigative efforts, the suspect was positively identified as Brandon Roy, 26, of Timmins, and was taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service earlier this week in regards to a separate Criminal Code matter.
In relation to this event, Roy now stands charged with additional counts of:
- Break and enter with intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Roy remains in custody pursuant to a bail hearing held on 26 October at Provincial Court in Timmins.
His next appearance in court is set for Wednesday, Dec. 23 .
