Larder Lake driver facing racing charge

On Feb.22, 2021 shortly after 1:30 p.m., a member from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was conducting pro-active patrols on Highway 11, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

A vehicle travelling northbound approached the officer's location, travelling in excess of 145 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. 

The 39-year-old driver from Larder Lake, is charged with race a motor vehicle - excessive speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The vehicle was impounded and the drivers licence has been suspended for seven days. 

The driver was released by way of a Court Summons and is scheduled to appear at court on April 29, 2021, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
