KIRKLAND LAKE - On Nov. 18, 2022, frontline members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Earl Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
As a result of the investigation, a person 16 years of age, Kirkland Lake, has been arrested and charged with:
• Unlawfully in dwelling house, contrary to section 349(1) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• Failure to comply with release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC
The youth cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake at a later date.
