KIRKLAND LAKE - On Sept. 16, 2020 at approximately 3:05 a.m., members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residential fire on Government Road East in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
As a result of the investigation one person has been arrested and charged.
Ryley Everingham, age 30 of Kirkland Lake, has been charged with the following:
• Arson - disregard for human life, contrary to section 433(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
• Criminal harassment - threatening conduct, contrary to section 264(2)(d) of the CC.
The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice by video on Sept. 29, 2020.
