On June 21, 2022 at approximately 1:57 p.m., frontline members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a collision on Government Road East in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
The investigation [alleges] that the driver was under the influence of drugs.
As a result, Thomas Lauzon, 45 years of age of Kirkland Lake, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Dangerous operation, contrary to section 320.13(1) of the CC
- Failure to stop after accident, contrary to section 320.16(1) of the CC
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on July 28, 2022.
