KAPUSKASING - On March 5, 2020, at approximately 3:15 p.m., members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic related occurrence in the Town of Kapuskasing.
A 17-year-old, person from Kapuskasing, Ontario, has been charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC) and forcible confinement contrary to section 279(2) CC.
The name of the accused is not being disclosed to protect the identity of the victim and of the accused who is a young person.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing, on April 6, 2020, to answer to the charges.
