KAPUSKASING – On Jan. 23, 2021 members of the James Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of child luring in Kapuskasing.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old resident of Kapuskasing was arrested and has been charged with:
- Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication, contrary to section 172.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC), and
- Makes, prints, publishes or possesses for the purpose of publication and child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(2) of the CC.
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing in March 2021.
