Kapuskasing driver faces charges after tractor trailer crash

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a collision involving a tractor trailer that occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31 at the intersection of Algonquin Blvd and Mountjoy Street North.

The driver of a blue Peterbilt conventional style commercial motor vehicle (CMV) hauling an unloaded flatbed trailer who completed an improper right hand turn onto Algonquin Blvd resulting in damage to a hydro pole at the intersection has been identified and located.

As a result of the collision and the ensuing investigation, Justin Leblanc, 27, of Kapuskasing, has been charged with: 

  • Improper right turn contrary to section 141(2) of the Highway Traffic Act 
  • Fail to report damage to property on highway contrary to section 201 of the Highway Traffic Act 
  • Fail to remain contrary to section 200(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act

The accused has been served with a Provincial Offence Act summons compelling his appearance in Provincial Court on July 8 to answer to the charges laid against him.
