Iroquois Falls man accused of shoplifting

Police say the 42-year-old faces theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime charges

IROQUOIS FALLS - On Jan. 11, 2021, members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a shoplifting occurrence at a local business on Ambridge Drive in Iroquois Falls.

As a result of the investigation, Steven Dumont, 42 years of age of Iroquois Falls has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Theft under $5,000 - shoplifting contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC) and,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) of the CC.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on February 25, 2021.
