An "irate customer" refusing to leave a local store is facing charges, according to Timmins Police.

Officers were called to an Algonquin Boulevard store yesterday (May 31) afternoon for a complaint of an irate customer who was asked to leave the store.

Police found the suspect outside of the store and told him that he was not allowed to visit the store anymore.

"The man opted to return to the store where he was once again advised by police to leave as he was not welcome," reads a Timmins Police news release.

"The man refused to leave as instructed by the police."

The suspect "actively resisted" arrest but was eventually taken into custody, said police.

A 34-year-old man from Timmins is charged with entering a premises when prohibited, failing to live when directed, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

The accused is in police custody waiting for a bail hearing today.

None of the charges have been tried in court.
