Human remains found near Latchford have been identified as a missing hiker from southern Ontario.
According to police, Pickering's Raymond Chan, 60, started a cross-country hike in late 2019. He was last seen in the Latchford area in December 2019.
Human remains located southeast of Latchford Aug. 25 have been identified as Chan. Police say a post-mortem took place in Toronto at the Centre of Forensic Sciences on Aug. 31.
A Temiskaming OPP investigation is ongoing , with help from the OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensics Identification Services Unit. The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service have also been part of it.
