Hearst resident killed in crash near Englehart

A Hearst driver was killed in a crash near Englehart on the weekend. 

The two-vehicle crash happened Saturday, March 6 around 9:30 a.m. when a southbound vehicle collided with a northbound tractor-trailer on Highway 11 about five kilometres north of Englehart, according to Temiskaming OPP. 

The driver of the southbound vehicle died in the crash. The driver has been identified as 29-year-old Papa Abdoulaye Ndiaye of Hearst. 

The tractor-trailer driver was brought to hospital by ambulance as "precautionary measures", said police. 

Highway 11 was closed in both directions for nearly 12 hours for the investigation, reopening around 9 p.m.

The OPP's Technical Traffic Collision Investigations (TTCI) and the Office of the Chief Coroner - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are helping with the investigation.
