Fentanyl, crystal meth, cocaine among drugs seized by police

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with drug possession offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the late early morning hours of Friday, July 1 at a Crawford Street residence in South Porcupine.

While attending a call for service at a Crawford Street address, the responding Timmins Police officer determined that one of the parties involved was a person currently wanted on the strength of a valid Arrest Warrant held by the Timmins Police Service.

The subject was subsequently arrested and taken into police custody.

An amount of Canadian currency and quantities of controlled substances were located on the suspect’s person and seized as evidence by the Timmins Police Service, specifically: 

  • approximately 0.3 grams Blue Fentanyl 
  • approximately 8 grams of Pink Fentanyl 
  • approximately 17 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine 
  • approximately 18 grams of Crack Cocaine 
  • approximately 35 grams of Cocaine 
  • 38 capsules of Hydromorph capsules

As a result of the incident, Kevin Dupere, 38, of Timmins, has been charged with: 

  • Five counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act 
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Dupere remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins, to answer to the charges laid against him.
