A driver is facing charges after a weekend RIDE program in Kapuskasing.
Around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, James Bay OPP was doing a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Queen Street. Police say the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages and was brought to the station for further testing.
The driver, a 40-year-old man from Kapuskasing, was charged with impaired driving and impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
The accused was released and will appear in a Kapuskasing court on Jan. 9, 2023.
"The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education," reads the news release.
