Crash leads to impaired driving charges east of South Porcupine

SOUTH PORCUPINE – On March 6, 2021 at approximately 3:38 a.m., members of the South Porcupine Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a motor vehicle collision on Highway 101, east of South Porcupine.  

As a result of the investigation, Gloria Louttit, 28 years of age, of Attawapiskat First Nation was arrested and charged with the following:   

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), 
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC and,•
  • Consuming liquor in other than licenced premises, residence or private place contrary to section 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).  

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 10, 2021 in Timmins.
