The Timmins Police Service has charged a local woman with a stolen property related offence stemming from an incident that occurred during the morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 28 where an allegedly stolen vehicle was located in her possession.

Responding to a call for service where a vehicle that had been reported as stolen on Sept. 21 was currently being operated in the south east part of the city of Timmins, a Timmins Police officer located the vehicle on Gold Mine Road and undertook a traffic stop.

Once stopped, the female operator of the vehicle was taken into custody, as the status of the vehicle as stolen was confirmed.

The woman was arrested and the vehicle was returned to the lawful owner.

As a result of the incident, Tammy Nakogee, 30, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Fail to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused remains in police while awaiting a Bail Hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
