Arrest made after 85-year-old woman pushed to ground, has purse stolen

The Timmins Police Service has arrested and charged a local woman with robbery related offences stemming from an incident where an elderly woman had her purse taken from her by force in an incident that occurred on Sunday, Sept. 13 on Third Avenue in Timmins.

The Timmins Police Service responded to the original call for service where an 85-year-old woman had been pushed to the ground and had her purse taken from her by force by a female suspect.

The suspect fled on foot with approximately $50 in Canadian currency.

Through investigative means undertaken by the Timmins Police – Street Outreach and Community Safety team, the suspect was identified as Natalie Harrisson, 32, of Timmins.

The Timmins Police arrested her on Friday, Sept. 18 and she is charged with: 

  • Robbery with violence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada  
  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
