An argument between two women that escalated led to a section of a local road being closed off by police last night.
May 23, Timmins Police were called to a Birch Street North address for a disturbance between two women.
Police say that the women know each other and at one point a verbal threat was uttered.
"The original call indicated that a weapon was involved in the incident," said police.
"As a precautionary measure, responding Timmins Police officers contained the immediate area for public safety reasons."
The suspect was located and arrested at another location while police searched for the alleged weapon at the Birch Street North address.
A 52-year-old woman is charged with uttering threats. The accused was not named because the charges have not been formal sworn in by a Justice of the Peace.
The accused was released from custody and is slated to appear in court on June 14.
The charge has not been tested in court.
