An argument between two women that escalated led to a section of a local road being closed off by police last night.

May 23, Timmins Police were called to a Birch Street North address for a disturbance between two women.

Police say that the women know each other and at one point a verbal threat was uttered.

"The original call indicated that a weapon was involved in the incident," said police.

"As a precautionary measure, responding Timmins Police officers contained the immediate area for public safety reasons."
