71-year-old charged with criminal harassment

Accused was under strict court imposed conditions to not contact, annoy or molest someone he is alleged to have been following Sunday evening

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident that occurred in South Porcupine during the evening hours of Sunday, June 13.

The Timmins Police Service received a report of a man following a specific person from place to place in South Porcupine while the suspect was in his vehicle.

The suspect is subject to strict court imposed conditions including not to contact, annoy or molest the specific person that he was [allegedly] following yesterday evening.

The victim reported the matter to the police.

Timmins Police officers attend the scene and completed an investigation into the intimidating activity.

As a result of the incident, Frank Bint, 71 of South Porcupine, has been charged with:
    •    Criminal harassment contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
    •    Fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Bint remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
