20-year-old assaulted with a weapon, robbed: police

The Timmins Police Service has arrested and charged two local men with robbery-related offences stemming from an early evening incident where a 20-year-old man was assaulted with a weapon and had money stolen from him. 

The incident occurred during the evening of Saturday, Aug. 6  at a Pine Street South apartment building. 

The Timmins Police Service executed a search warrant the following day and took two men into custody. 

As a result of the incident, Dallas Wabano, 32, and Travis Martin, 33 of Timmins have been  charged with: 

  • Robbery with Violence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of  Canada 
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 

Wabano remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at the  Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him. 

Martin was released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking compelling him to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on Sept. 14 to answer to the charges laid against him.
